Godzilla, the main character of the Godzilla series(duh) has a long story. He began life as a Godzillasaurus on a Pacific island. During the island hopping of 1944, Americans landed on the island to try to take it from the Japanese that were there. The Godzillasaurus repealed them, but was wounded severly in the fighting. After the war, nuclear testing was done on the island, mutating the Godzillasaurus into Godzilla. Beginning with 'Godzilla 1985', a new series of Godzilla movies (the 'Heisei' series) came out, but the original Godzilla would have been dwarfed by modern Tokyo. So in the new 'Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah', the Furturians, a time-traveling furture race of people, came and took the Godzillasaurus from the island to the Bering Sea, away from any nuclear testing. A accident involving a nuclear sub, however, mutated the Godzillasaurus into a Godzilla twice the size of the original Godzilla. This is for the Heisei series Godzilla was born.
