A sort of Anti-Mothra, Battra fights for the earth. In the second 'Godzilla vs. Mothra', it is explained that Battra destroyed the Cosmos' civilization because they built a machine to control the weather. Although defeated by Godzilla, Battra may rise again on the Earth's behalf. Heaven knows why Battra wasn't there when Hedorah was around.
